Formula

days = as-of date − birth date (counted in calendar days, leap days included)

  • weeks = floor(days ÷ 7)
  • hours = days × 24
  • months = 12 × whole years + whole months

Worked example

From 15 May 1990 to 15 May 2024: 34 years × 365 = 12,410 days, plus 9 leap days (1992 to 2024) = 12,419 days. That is 1,774 whole weeks, 408 months and 12,419 × 24 = 298,056 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my age in days?

Count the days from your birth date to the as-of date, including leap days. From 15 May 1990 to 15 May 2024 that is 34 × 365 + 9 leap days = 12,419 days.

How many hours old am I?

Multiply the days by 24. At 12,419 days old you are 12,419 × 24 = 298,056 hours old, counted in whole days from midnight to midnight.

How are weeks and months counted?

Weeks are whole 7-day blocks, so 12,419 days is 1,774 weeks (with 1 day left over). Months are whole calendar months, so 34 years is 408 months.

Is the birth day counted?

No. The count is the number of days that have passed since the birth date, so the same date for both inputs gives 0 days.
